The Founder and CEO of Renuity is recognized for leaving a decade-long private equity career to operate the thesis he had written, consolidating a fragmented, family-owned corner of home remodeling into one of the industry’s largest national platforms in under six years, and for keeping the company’s original private equity backers as sellers rather than acquirers when it was time to bring in new capital.
HG HomeClub has named Daniel Gluck, Founder and CEO of Renuity, to its list of the 25 Most Influential Leaders in Home Improvement, Home Services and Outdoor Living.
The list, published by HG HomeClub, recognizes 25 leaders who are shaping these three industries in the right way. It spans manufacturing, distribution, retail, technology, franchising, contracting, media, capital and the associations that convene the trades. It is presented alphabetically and carries no numerical ranking, because the leaders on it exercise influence in fundamentally different ways, and comparing a keynote stage to a distribution network, or a franchise system to a product platform, would flatten what makes each of them consequential.
Gluck earns his place on it as the rare private equity professional who left the investing side of the table to run the thesis himself. He founded what became Renuity in early 2019, built around an idea he developed while still a private equity investor: that the country’s fragmented, family-owned home remodeling sector could be consolidated into a single, tech-enabled national platform. By 2023, the company he built ranked No. 7 on Qualified Remodeler’s annual Top 500 list of the largest firms in the industry, and today it operates across 40 states with more than 1,700 employees.
Those are the numbers. The story starts with a thesis Gluck wrote before he ever ran a company.
From Special Situations to Managing Director: Daniel Gluck’s Decade in Private Equity
Gluck holds a B.S. in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied from 2003 to 2007. He began his career as an analyst in the Special Situations Group at Goldman Sachs, from 2007 to 2010, before moving to York Capital Management, where he spent 11 years as a private equity professional, rising to Managing Director. It was during that final stretch at York, in the years leading up to 2019, that Gluck developed the investment thesis that would eventually pull him out of investing altogether: that direct-to-consumer home improvement, still dominated by small, regional, often family-run operators, was ready for the kind of centralized, technology-driven consolidation that had already reshaped other fragmented service industries.
Why Daniel Gluck Chose to Operate His Own Thesis
Rather than simply fund the consolidation and hand it to an outside operator, Gluck chose to run it himself. Renuity was founded in early 2019 to aggregate best-in-class home service providers across the United States, built initially as a platform for a stable of home improvement brands under York Capital’s ownership. Gluck transitioned to full-time CEO in mid-2020, walking away from a finished private equity career to build and operate the company day to day.
Uniting the Brands: How Renuity Became a National Platform
Under Gluck‘s leadership, Renuity unified a portfolio of respected regional remodeling brands under one national identity, including Mad City Windows & Baths, Pacific Bath, FHIA Remodeling, Statewide Remodeling, Home Smart Industries, MaxHome, Paradise Home Improvement, Rite Window and Closet America, each previously operating independently in its own regional market. “Renuity’s footprint now spans 50+ attractive markets across the country,” Gluck said in 2023 when Renuity acquired Closet America, its first move into the closet and home organization category. “Helping homeowners elevate their expectations across the industry is part of our mission, and now we have added an important part of the home to our product suite as we continue to deliver seamless customer experiences.” By 2022, the combined platform generated $664.6 million in revenue across 44,605 jobs, the year that earned it its No. 7 national ranking.
The Kohler Partnership Runs Deeper Than a Supplier Relationship
A cornerstone of Renuity’s national growth has been its exclusive partnership with Kohler to supply and install premium bath replacement products, a relationship close enough that many local Renuity crews now operate under a co-branded “Renuity by Kohler” identity in the field. That partnership has become central to how the company markets itself to homeowners, pairing KOHLER-certified installers and products with Renuity’s national service network across its bath replacement brands.
Handing the Company to a New Partner: The 2024 Greenbriar Deal
On June 3, 2024, Greenbriar Equity Group completed its acquisition of Renuity from York Capital Management’s private equity group and other minority investors, in partnership with company management, with financial terms of the transaction not disclosed. Notably, Gluck remained as CEO through the transition rather than exiting alongside York, continuing to lead the company under its new ownership. “Renuity’s highly differentiated tech-enabled business model is a terrific fit for Greenbriar’s strategy of partnering with businesses poised for significant growth,” said Niall McComiskey, Greenbriar Managing Partner, of the deal. “We are excited to partner with Daniel and his management team to further accelerate Renuity’s impressive track record of expansion while delivering extraordinary service and value to its customer base.”
Renuity’s Guildmaster Recognition Reflects Its Customer-Service Bet
In April 2025, Renuity received a Guildmaster Award from GuildQuality, an Atlanta-based third-party customer satisfaction surveying company, for demonstrating exceptional customer service within the residential construction industry. Out of nearly 2,000 eligible applicants, Renuity was one of more than 400 businesses recognized, achieving a customer recommendation rate of 90 percent or above. “We’re incredibly proud to receive the 2025 Guildmaster Award, it reflects the dedication and care our team puts into every project,” said Eric Hayes, Senior Vice President of Operations at Renuity. Renuity has since been recognized with a second consecutive Guildmaster Award in 2026.
A National Footprint Built From Local Trust
Renuity, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a second hub in Coral Gables, Florida, now operates across 40 states and has grown its workforce to more than 1,700 employees, supporting thousands of additional local contracting partners across its regional brands. The company describes itself as having served over 275,000 customers nationwide, a scale it has reached while continuing to expand into new categories and metro markets, including a March 2026 launch of bathroom renovation services in the Boise, Idaho, metro area, serving more than 800,000 area residents.
Why Does Daniel Gluck Belong Among the 25 Most Influential Leaders in These Industries?
Influence in these industries takes several forms. Some leaders influence through a keynote stage or a book. Some through a franchise system that creates business owners. Some through a distribution network, a software platform, or the price of a pallet.
Daniel Gluck influences through a path few others on this list have walked: he wrote the investment thesis, then left the investing seat to build the company that proved it right. He took a scattered collection of family-owned remodeling brands and, in under six years, built a top-10 national platform, kept operating it through a change in ownership rather than exiting alongside his original backers, and layered a premium brand partnership and consecutive national customer-service awards on top of the growth. That combination of investor’s discipline and operator’s persistence is exactly the kind of influence this list was created to recognize.
